Welcome to the first ever blog post for my new venture called Gemini Pet Care. In this article I want to tell you a little bit about myself, my reasons for starting this business and the services I plan to offer.
Gemini Pet Care Owner – Gail Dunn
As the heading states my name is Gail Dunn. I live in the heart of the beautiful and historic town of Durham with my partner and our 3 dogs. My own dog is a 6 year old mini Schnauzer called Sybil. I enjoy long walks in the local countryside with my partner and our dogs. Other hobbies include yoga, reading and cooking.
I’ve always been passionate about pets and so I’ve finally decided to make it my career. I have years of experience looking after a wide variety of animals which includes particular experience of walking Greyhounds.
Gemini Pet Care – Services
So what pet services am I offering to the residents of Durham? Initially I will offer a selection of dog walking and pet sitting services. In future we may look at other related services including pet transport.
My dog walking service caters to dogs of different ages and breeds. I can offer both group walks and solo walks to suit the needs of your particular dog. I’m insured to provide off lead walks with owners written consent but also offer on lead walks for dogs with poor recall or other issues that require that they remain on lead. Walk durations are either 30 minutes or 1 hour, again to suit the age and requirements of your particular dog.
My pet sitting service is aimed at a variety of species. Dogs and cats form the bulk of enquiries but we can also meet the needs of other small mammals like rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters etc. The typical pet sitting enquiries include:
- Puppy visits (puppies are often fed 3 times a day so I can pop in while you are at work to feed your puppy, give them a toilet break and some fuss and cuddles.
- Cat sitting. Cat’s are often very independent. If you are on holiday they will sometimes be happier in their own home with visits from me to feed them and give them attention, rather than putting them in a cattery.
- Dog sitting. Dogs don’t like to be left for a long duration. If you have an all day function to attend like a wedding you might wish to book me to visit your dog, feed them and give them some time in the garden. Dog sitting visits are also popular with owners of old dogs who are not fit enough to join one of our walks for whatever reason.
So whatever your pet care needs there is a good chance I can help. If you have any questions you can contact me by phone, email or by using the contact form that you can find on the contact page. I look forward to meeting you and your pet(s).
